Athletics means more than competition between individuals representing different schools. Athletics is a means of learning a way of life, which exemplifies the idea that hard work, drive and self-determination will eventually bring success. Good sportsmanship, whether you win or lose, and the concepts of teamwork and self-discipline are inherent parts of any athletic program, as well as of life. Athletics teaches us the understanding of and appreciation of teamwork.
An athlete should recognize training rules as a means of victory for the team. To break training interrupts the progress of the individual and places the morale and success of the team in jeopardy.
Our after school athletic teams include:
Girls can compete in volleyball, cross country, basketball, track, and softball.
Boys can choose from these interscholastic sports: football, cross country, basketball, and track.
For volleyball, flag football and basketball, Saint Andrew’s is a member of the Diocese of San Jose Catholic Athletic League - West Division. For cross country and track, Saint Andrew’s competes against area public schools
Requirements for participation vary according to grade level.
Through participation in athletics, many Saint Andrew’s students have broadened their opportunities to attend top colleges and universities as well as developed lifelong passions.
