Why a Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School Education?

Parents, Alumni and representatives of Private High Schools recently participated in focus groups and anonymous surveys where they shared their thoughts on the school. Here’s a sample of the comments received:

Parents

“(Our children) learn how to think critically and creatively - they get to explore alternate solutions. They are not only smart, they can figure things out.”

“Teaching kids how to learn and love learning. Teaching them to understand and comprehend rather than rote memorization. These are skills that ultimately make you successful in life...(Saint Andrew’s) approach provides the base for them to succeed in any learning environment in the future.”

“It’s a good, solid elementary school experience; it was stimulating but not an exteme academic pressure cooker. They followed their mission well.”

Alumni

“Saint Andrew’s encouraged involvement and leadership in a variety of activities and spurred individuals to find their gift whether it was journalism, athletics, community service, music or theatre. I was vastly ahead of the majority of the students when I entered high school, both in maturity and extracurricular involvement and motivation.”

“Teachers and faculty care about students - they push students to explore their potential...There is a true sense of community at Saint Andrew’s School.”

“I learned many life skills at Saint Andrew’s, including time management, note taking, and academic discipline. I also became physically self-disciplined through the amazing athletics that the school had to offer.”

High School Admission Directors

“They have a good reputation in the community; they are on the forefront of technology and that sets them apart. Their kids adapt to high school seamlessly.”

“Their kids get with the academics easily, they don’t mind working hard--they step up and do it. If presented with leadership [opportunities] they are willing to step into that, too.”

“(Their students) are positive, community-oriented, well-prepared.”
