Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School and Church have outgrown the current facilities. The School and Church must build state-of-the-art sustainable facilities to further the ongoing development of world-class curricula and spiritual programs for future generations. To do this, the School will:
- Continue, in partnership with the Church, to build, maintain and acquire shared facilities and develop ongoing property management
- Incorporate sustainability into all future facilities by committing to LEEDs (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification and evaluating the life-cycle cost effectiveness of all furniture, fixtures and equipment

Substantially Reduce Environmental Impact
Saint Andrew’s has a vision of sustainable school operations that blends environmental conservation and economic viability with links to school curriculum. To achieve this vision, the School will:
- Incorporate sustainability approaches and activities into the existing school curriculum and instill in our students environmental care, environmental respect and environmental responsibility
- Establish institutional ecologic footprint benchmarks for operation of the School, that is, determine the impact that the current school operations have on the environment, then set annual goals for reducing, reusing and recycling
Beyond the Classroom
Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School recognizes that learning does not begin or end in the classroom. Learning extends throughout all aspects of life. Beyond the classroom, parents and children want to participate in athletics, explore visual and performing arts, discover and consider new interests, as well as relax and play with friends. To further this goal, the School will:
- Coordinate excellent, age-appropriate extra-curricular programs with a broad range of activities and flexible scheduling
- Develop an on-campus program schedule that is accessible and communicated in advance to ease parents' planning
- Form strategic alliances with leading providers of enrichment programs as well as public services and corporate and university outreach programs
- Expand promotion of events like the STAR Speaker and Common Ground speaker series to encourage parent participation and broader community involvement
- Enable the extended Saint Andrew’s community (parents, grandparents, special friends, and others) to discover and share activities throughout the Bay Area that complement and build on grade-level curricula
Enhance Communication
To both retain existing families and attract new families Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School must enhance internal communications and expand its outreach to surrounding communities. To achieve this, the School will:
- Clearly communicate the benefits of an Episcopal School education
- Establish consistent channels of communication (for example, provide information about all extra-curricular activities in one location on the website)
- Expand the use of the website to create a uniform information repository and to facilitate information management and communications among the various school constituencies
- Continue the implementation of the marketing plan to promote the benefits of a Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School education
- Promote a strong, synergistic relationship between Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School and Church by increasing opportunities for communication and mutual appreciation between the school and church
