Saint Andrew's Episcopal School is thrilled to host its Second Annual Middle School Science Symposium, Inspiration & Discovery on Tuesday, March 30th. Opening the event is keynote speaker, artist John Pugh. Mr. Pugh will challenge students to think anew about how science can be part of their future as he discusses how biology, architecture and mathematics all play a part in the creation of his large scale trompe l'oeil murals. (All current parents, Saint Andrew's alumni and alumni parents are invited to join us for the welcome remarks and keynote address from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. in Saint Andrew's Hall. Coffee will be served.)
Students will then fill their day with sessions presented from researchers in the fields of physics, biology, geology, engineering, robots, ecology, forensics and more. Students will learn first hand what has inspired these experts to pursue their career field and what keeps them inspired in their current research.

This year, Saint Andrew’s has invited students from the Santa Clara Unified School District’s Girls Achieving In Non-Traditional Subjects (GAINS) program to participate in the Symposium. GAINS is a unique program where young women are encouraged through a variety of opportunities to learn more about future careers, visit colleges, and prepare for college admissions exams.
