About the Admission Process
Goal of the Admission Process: The goal of the admission process at Saint Andrew's is to enroll those students who are most likely to thrive in our school environment, and whose families embrace the mission and values of our school. To achieve that goal, we gather information concerning a prospective student's academic history, character and behavior during the application process. At the same time, we aim to provide prospective families with complete and accurate information about our community, programs and expectations. In essence, we strive to ensure an excellent match between our school and the families who enroll here.

Factors Considered in the Admission Decision: To ensure that we enroll students who have the greatest likelihood of success at Saint Andrew’s, the Office of Admission builds a profile of each candidate with respect to academic achievement and relevant character traits. The Admission Committee considers, as appropriate, an applicant’s academic record, teacher recommendations, achievement tests, admission assessment, and interactions with current teachers and students.

Admission Timeline: We are currently accepting applications for the 2012-2013 academic year, as well as transfer applications for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Transfer Applicants: We consider transfer applications throughout the school year, with spaces available in select grades. We have established wait pools for grades in which no spaces are available. Please contact Lani Mah, Director of Admission, at (408) 867-3785 ext. 208, to discuss availability in your child's grade.

Campus Visits for Parents: As part of the admission process, we strongly encourage prospective parents to visit campus for one of our Admission Open Houses and/or a pre-arranged school day classroom visit. Please see the Upcoming Admission Events tab to the left for information on our Open Houses. To schedule a classroom visit, please contact the Office of Admission at (408) 867-3785 ext. 208 or 216.

Shadowing Visits for Students: Students entering Grades 4-8 are invited to "shadow" for a morning with current Saint Andrew's students. For students entering Grades 6-8, a shadowing visit is a required part of the application process. Please contact the Office of Admission to schedule a shadowing visit for your child.

Application Requirements. Please read the “Application Instructions and Forms” information under the tab to the left for our application requirements. We would be more than happy to send you an application package or discuss the admission process with you.

Admission Policy:  The admission policy of Saint Andrew's Episcopal School is to admit students without regard to race, religion, creed, color, sexual orientation, age, physical challenge, nation of origin, gender or any other characteristic to all the rights, privileges, school administered programs and activities made available to students.
