We'll be sharing the history of the school in a two-part series published in our biannual newsletter, The Oak.
Here are some highlights of the school's illustrious history:
The early years...
Although Saint Andrew's

Parish Day School began its first academic year in 1961, plans for the school began in 1957. The Reverend Roy W. Strasburger, then Vicar of Saint Andrew's Church, proposed a weekday educational ministry that would benefit the community. He proposed that a suburban community such as Saratoga might need a co-educational parish day school for elementary grades as a unique contribution by a Protestant church.
In mid-1959 Saint Andrew's School was incorporated as a non-profit education institution, separate from the church. The first Board of Trustees included: The Reverend Roy W. Strasburger, Vicar and President; Davenport Browne, Jr., Vice President; Warren W. Faus, Secretary; Horace E. Dodge, III, Treasurer; Jeanne S. Cameron; E. Day Carmen; Albert R. Dunlap; Richard E. Kaufman; Ruth Salera; Patricia M. Strasburger; Elizabeth Wakefield and Maxine H. Willett.
