School first envisioned by Bishop's Committee

School incorporated as a non-profit educational institution

Two consecutive attempts made at opening school fail due to low enrollment

1961
School opens September 11th with 22 Kindergarten and 17 First Grade students

1961
School tuition is $300 for Kindergarten and $400 for First Grade

1962
School enrollment more than doubles to 87; second and third grade classes added

1962
Portable classroom building is added at cost of $15,000

1963
Fourth grade classes begin; school enrollment reaches 107

1964
Reverend Richard B. Ford is appointed as Head of School

1964
Fifth grade classes begin; school enrollment reaches 147

1965
Sixth grade classes are added; enrollment is 188

1966
Additional church building enabled school to add second sections of each grade

1966
Seventh grade classes begin; enrollment reaches 210

1967
Marcia McManus is appointed as Head of School

1967
Eighth grade classes begin and school becomes a complete K - 8 educational facility

Enrollment reaches 249, growing over 500% in six years

1968
Outdoor volleyball and basketball courts added to Crestbrook Drive playfields

First graduation ceremony is held June

Enrollment reaches 309

Preschool I and Preschool II begins

Reverend David Cooling is appointed as Head of School; Clay Morris named as first Assistant Head

Female faculty dress code revised to allow pant suits

Danielle Closson is named as Assistant Head

Reverend Strasburger begins six-month term as Acting Head of School

Building Committee formed to expand fine arts building, build covered walkway and wooden deck under Oak tree

Father Earl Sneary begins a 12-year role as Head of School

Progressive Skills Program launched; later known as Junior Kindergarten

John Myszak is appointed as Assistant Head of School

Enrollment reaches peak of 456

Alison C. Lucas begins a 10-year term as Dean of Students

Progressive Skills Program renamed Kindergarten I

Crestview Field upgraded

Faculty reaches 41

Saint Andrew's celebrates 25th Anniversary

Jay Lentz begins nine-year term as Head of School

First computer lab dedicated

Fourth graders take first trip to Gold Country

Kindergarten I renamed Junior Kindergarten

Anne Cameron serves a one-year term as Assistant Head

Primary (K-3) and Secondary (4-8) Divisions begin

Lani Mah begins role as Assistant Head of Primary School; Anne Cameron serves as Assistant Head of Secondary School

Reverend Ernest Cockrell begins 15-year role as Church Rector

Laurel Browning and Midge Jambor share role as Assistant of Secondary School

Laurel Browning becomes Assistant Head of Primary School

Harry V. McKay, Jr. selected as the seventh Head of School

1999
Richard Hof begins tenure as Assistant Head of School; Laurel Browning serves as Director of Curriculum and Technology

One-to-one laptop program initiated for students in grades 6-8

2000
Academic year begins with 455 students enrolled

2001
Preschool II is renamed to Pre-Kindergarten

2002
Pre-Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten combine

2004
Middle School expands to three sections at each grade

2006
School joins national CHARACTER COUNTS!® program

2006
Construction on Saint Andrew's Center and Saint Andrew's Hall is completed.

2007
Victoria Trevor and Tekakwitha Pernambuco-Wise begin terms as Head of Lower School and MIddle School, respectively

2009
ActivBoards are installed and utilized in every classroom on campus

2009
Reverend Channing R. Smith is named as Church Rector

2010
Academic Year begins with 336 students

2011
50th Anniversary Celebration Year
