"Each day there are articles in the news about our children who are overweight and rarely participate in physical activities. This is definitely not the case at St. Andrews in Saratoga. I have been a teacher, coach and athletic director for over 40 years, the last 30 at Bellarmine Prep in San Jose. I have always known that the running program at Saint Andrew’s was top notch and first class. The young men who attend our high school from Saint Andrew’s have received such a wonderful background in running that they are able to make our teams and perform well enough to help us in victories and defeats. However, I am even more impressed with the attitudes that were developed in this program. Not only are they in shape, but they bring with them the feeling of team rather than self and they deeply care about all the members on the team.
The staff and parents at Saint Andrews should be proud of this program and anyone wanting to begin such a program should make a visit to the school."
