NJHS sponsors Mustache Madness
The Saint Andrew's Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society is raising money for the Indira Gandhi International School in Bangalore by hosting a crazy project called Mustache Madness! Mustache Madness challenges students and teachers to guess which of the four contestants (Mr. Kunzel, Mr. Souder, Mr. Alvarez or Mr. Higgins) can last the longest without shaving beginning November 28th.

Students cast their votes by pledging a donation for each week their contestant goes unshaven (minimum pledge is $1 per week*.) For example, if student Y pledges $3 per week that Mr. Higgins will be able to survive the longest without removing his itchy facial hair and Mr. Higgins keeps his facial hair for six weeks before shaving, student Y would owe $18 at the end of the competition - regardless of whether Mr. Higgins is the winner.  NJHS will create invoices for each student at the end of the competition.  (Student pledge forms must be signed by a parent indicating a commitment to fulfill the weekly pledge amount.)

The students/teachers that have bet on the winning teacher will receive a yet to be determined reward such as a free dress day and/or an ice cream party.  The student that pledges the most will also receive a prize.

Let the Madness begin!!!!

About the Indira Gandhi School
As a result of the long-lasting Civil War in Sri Lanka, 65,000 people have fled to over 130 refugee camps in Southern India in fear of persecution. In particular, the Indira Gandhi School provides education, housing, and food for Sri Lankan refugee children, who have been taken from their parents staying in those refugee camps in Tamil Nadu, South India. There are over 230 children, grades 1-10, that live at this school and receive a much needed education. However, this boarding school hasn't been able to provide these students a thorough class curriculum or a suitable environment for them to thrive and learn. The money raised will be used to purchase such things as blankets, food, school supplies, beds, medicine or even paying teachers.

*The minimum bid has been changed from $2 to $1.
