Tuition, Fees and Financial Aid

Following is an explanation of our tuition and fee structure and our Financial Aid program. Tuition covers all books and field trips, as well as the laptops issued to our Middle School students for use during the school year. After-school programs, the lunch program and the Eighth Grade trip to Washington D.C. are subject to an additional charge.

PreKindergarten Tuition:
  • The PreKindergarten program at Saint Andrew's runs from 8:15-11:45 a.m., Monday-Friday. An optional extended-day PreKindergarten program ("P.M. Pals") is available until 3:00 p.m. After-School Care is available to all students until 6:00 p.m.
  • PreKindergarten tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year is $12,606. If the student re-enrolls in Kindergarten for the 2013-2014 academic year, $1,260.60 of the PreKindergarten tuition will be credited to the student's 2013-2014 Kindergarten tuition payment.
  • The charge for P.M. Pals and After-School Care is $7.50 per hour. No advance registration or long-term commitment is required; parents are simply billed as the programs are used.
  • Financial Aid is available to qualified families. Please see below for further information.
Kindergarten through Eighth Grade Tuition:
  • The school day for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade students is from 8:15 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. After-School Care is available until 6:00 p.m.
  • Kindergarten through Eighth Grade tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year is $21,010.
  • Financial Aid is available to qualified families. Please see below for further information.

Application Fee:

  • A non-refundable Application Fee of $75.00 must be submitted with each application.

Capital Charge:

  • Each incoming family must pay a one-time Capital Charge upon entry to Saint Andrew’s. For a family entering Lower School, the charge is $600; for a family entering Middle School, the charge is $1,500.
  • The Capital Charge is a charge per family, not per child. Payments may be distributed over three years or paid in full prior to graduation, whichever comes first.

Enrollment Deposit:

  • To enroll at Saint Andrew’s, an accepted applicant must submit a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the tuition per student within ten days of the notification of acceptance. Space will not be held for students who fail to submit the deposit. The deposit will be applied to the child’s tuition for the 2012-2013 school year.

Additional Programs

Before and After-School Care:

  • Complimentary Before-School Care is offered each day beginning at 7:00 a.m.
  • After-School Care is available until 6:00 p.m. for $7.50 per hour. No advance registration or long-term commitment is required; parents are simply billed as the program is used.
  • Various after-school Special Interest Classes (for example, karate, chess club, art class and Lego Robotics) are also available. Charges for those classes are announced at the beginning of each semester. A sampling of available classes and costs can be found here.
  • After-School Sports are offered for Grades 5-8, subject to an additional charge.

Lunch Program:

  • Students have the option of bringing lunch from home or purchasing lunch at school.
  • Four days each week, Taste Nutrition Services prepares freshly-made, nutritious lunch options in our full kitchen. The charge for a hot lunch option, which includes low-fat milk, a salad bar and fruit, is $5.25 to $5.50. A la carte options, including sandwiches, salads, and fruit plates, are individually priced. Parents deposit money into a debit account, and each child is assigned a number for use at check-out; the account is debited as used.
  • One day each week, Middle School parents provide Bagel Lunch as a fundraiser. Families can sign up and pay for Bagel Lunch at the beginning of each year.
  • A further description of the lunch program can be found here.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available to qualified Saint Andrew's students at all grade levels, based upon a family's demonstrated financial need. Although we may not be able to meet all requests for financial aid, Saint Andrew's strives to accommodate as many families as possible, to the greatest degree possible.

All Financial Aid requests, documentation and dollar amounts are held in the strictest confidence. Applying for Financial Aid does not affect a child's acceptance to or enrollment at Saint Andrew's.

Saint Andrew's follows the principles and procedures of the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS), located in Princeton, New Jersey. Parents who wish to apply for Financial Aid submit a Parents' Financial Statement to SSS. SSS analyses the financial information against standardized national norms and generates an Estimated Family Contribution, which is a third party objective assessment of what the family should be able to contribute to a child's annual education costs.

SSS provides Saint Andrew's with the Estimated Family Contribution, which the Financial Aid Committee then uses as a guide in evaluating applications for Aid. The Committee determines whether a Financial Aid award is warranted and, if so, in what amount.

Detailed information about the SSS methodology and process, along with the required forms, are available in the Business Office. Applicants for Financial Aid must submit an application to the Business Office by March 1st, 2012 for priority consideration.
