The end of the school day doesn't mean that opportunities for learning and exploration having ended. Middle School students can take part in any number of optional after school activities that complement our academic program and further our mission to educate the whole child.
All students in grades 5-8 are encouraged to take part in our athletics program.
Participating in team and individual sports helps students develop self-confidence, good sportsmanship, discipline, and respect for themselves and others. The athletics program promotes the health and safety of the participants and provides opportunity for growth through individual and team participation.
Music and Drama
Each school year, our grades 5-8 music teacher directs a multitude of musical and choral ensembles based upon the interest of students. Rock bands, jazz bands, chapel singers, wind ensembles, percussion trios, a concert choir...all seem to materialize almost magically under the talented direction of Mr. Higgins. With rehearsals in our music studio, students can also learn about mixing and recording music on professional grade equipment.
In the spring, Saint Andrew's Episcopal School produces a musical. With professional direction, students in grades 3-8 are invited to be involved either on stage as actors and singers or behind the scenes helping with props and lighting. Recent productions have included Annie, Jr. and Peter Pan, Jr.
After School Classes
Students can also explore a variety of interests through challenging and unique enrichment activities taught by professional instructors - all without ever leaving campus.
For more information about any of our after school enrichment opportunities, please contact After School Activities Director Chris Scott (Saint Andrew's also offers child care before school and on certain days when school is not in session.)
