Middle School Class Trips

We value the diverse learning opportunities that our students garner through field trips as an essential component of a Saint Andrew’s education. Our community is a rich learning laboratory. That’s why teachers integrate off-campus learning experiences into every grade level’s studies.

Each grade level has an overnight class trip to build community and student independence as well as make curricular connections.  Trips include:

  • Grade 6 - Camp Santa Cruz: a three-day, two-night trip in the Santa Cruz mountains. Highlights include team-building games and high ropes course activity in the Redwood forest.

  • Grade 7 - Camp Sea Lab: a three-day, two-night trip on the Monterey Bay coastline. Highlights include beach marine science activities focused on environmental sustainability, kayaking the Elkhorn Slough, and whale watching in the Monterey Bay.

  • Grade 8 - Washington, D.C.: a seven-day, six-night trip to the United States Capitol city. Highlights include visiting the Smithsonian Institute, the MLK Jr, Vietnam War, and Lincoln  Memorials, the Washington Monument, the National Cathedral, the African American History & Culture and Holocaust Museums, Mount Vernon, the Gettysburg Battlefield and National Cemetery, and laying a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.
