MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities: it has been designated a “Day On; and not a “Day Off". This year will mark the 28th anniversary of the National Day of Service.

Celebrating Computer Science Education Week

Over the last couple of weeks, Saint Andrew's Episcopal School buzzed with excitement as we celebrated Computer Science Education Week! It was an opportunity for students across all grade levels to dive into the world of coding and computational thinking, demonstrating our commitment to fostering 21st-century skills. Students participated in engaging and age-appropriate coding activities designed to spark curiosity and build foundational computer science knowledge while collaborating with their peers to problem solve.

 

This year, we were excited to launch a new program in our Learning Services Department, Let Grow. I heard about the Let Grow program when I attended the NAIS conference in Nashville last February and was immediately excited to bring it back to Saint Andrews. Let Grow is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote free play and independence for our children.
