Celebrating Computer Science Education Week

Over the last couple of weeks, Saint Andrew's Episcopal School buzzed with excitement as we celebrated Computer Science Education Week! It was an opportunity for students across all grade levels to dive into the world of coding and computational thinking, demonstrating our commitment to fostering 21st-century skills. Students participated in engaging and age-appropriate coding activities designed to spark curiosity and build foundational computer science knowledge while collaborating with their peers to problem solve.

 

This year, we were excited to launch a new program in our Learning Services Department, Let Grow. I heard about the Let Grow program when I attended the NAIS conference in Nashville last February and was immediately excited to bring it back to Saint Andrews. Let Grow is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote free play and independence for our children.

Building Leaders Through Our Fifth Grade CIT Program

to extend that same opportunity to our fifth graders during the school year. By launching a CIT program specifically for them, we are helping students develop leadership skills earlier and learn what it means to be a role model, a problem-solver, and a helping hand within our school community.

Welcoming Grace Chu as Head of Lower School

Saint Andrew’s is proud to welcome a familiar face into one of our key leadership roles. Grace Chu, who has served as our school librarian for the past three years, will step into the role of Head of Lower School. Mrs. Chu's unique professional experience, warmth, and vision make her exceptionally well-suited for this role.
